"Everything changed the moment I toured the campus. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and knew right then that this was where I wanted to spend the next two years of my life. Seeing the security measures in place throughout campus reassured both me and my parents, giving us peace of mind about my well-being while living away from home. I appreciated how the campus was large enough to feel like a vibrant community, yet small enough to easily navigate between classes, making my daily routine convenient and stress-free. As I began looking into programs, I was pleased to find that Eastern Illinois University offered exactly the classes and majors that matched my academic interests and career goals. Looking back, I'm grateful for how everything aligned to bring me to a place that feels like home."

Hands-On Experience

  • OSC 3800 has students build and apply spreadsheet models directly to management decision-making scenarios, not just learn formulas in isolation.
  • OSC 4820 puts data mining techniques to work uncovering real patterns — like what drives sales trends or where profitable opportunities might be hiding.
  • Business Statistics (BUS 2810) builds the analytical foundation students then apply throughout the minor's more advanced coursework.
  • BUS 1950 grounds students in the computer applications and tools that show up in real business analytics work, not just theoretical computing concepts.
  • Two elective courses let students steer the minor toward the specific analytics tools or applications most relevant to their intended career path.
