SRC Membership Options
All EIU faculty, staff, spouses, Alumni Association members, professional affiliates and Friends of the University are invited to join the Student Recreation Center. Payment types accepted: cash, check, credit, and payroll deduction (for EIU employees).
The SRC is for the exclusive use of EIU students and the membership categories listed above.
Lantz Complex racquetball courts, pool, and field house are shared with Physical Education and Athletics and available only during assigned Campus Recreation hours.
Current Faculty Staff, Alumni Association Members, Friends of the University, Recent Grads (The semester directly after graduation), and Retiree/Annuitants can purchase memberships either in person at the SRC or via our Online Portal - https://eiu.dserec.com/online/memberships/categories
Admitted Students, Non-Fee Paying Students, Professional Affiliates, Student Spouses, Faculty/Staff Spouses, Retiree/Annuitant Spouses, Alumni Association Spouses, and Professional Affiliate Spouses must purchase memberships in person at the SRC.

1. Student Recreation Center (SRC) Pass - $110.00 per semester
- Membership allows full-time use of the Student Recreation Center and participation in all group fitness and intramural sport programs. Personal training is available at an additional cost.
- Available to faculty, staff, spouse/civil union partner, admitted students, annuitants, Alumni Association members, Professional Affiliates, and Friends of the University (those who donate $500 annually to any EIU department), who are eligible to purchase memberships.
- SRC Passes are $85.00 for the summer term (May 16th - August 14th).
- Annual SRC passes may be purchased by Annuitants, Alumni Association Members and Friends of the University for $305.00. Annual membership begins on the date of purchase and continues for one calendar year.
2. Limited Fitness (LiFT)/AM Pass - $75.00 per semester
Time-restricted use of facilities. Individuals may purchase one (1) LiFT card.
- Available for purchase by faculty, staff, spouse/civil union partner, annuitants, Alumni Association members, Professional Affiliates, and Friends of the University.
- Time of use restricted as follows: 1)Monday-Thursday: 5:30am-3:00pm and 2)Friday-Sunday: Open-Close.
- Allows participation in Group fitness programming that falls within the above time frames. Personal training is available at an additional cost.
- LiFT/AM passes are not available during the summer.
- Annual LiFT/AM memberships may be purchased by Annuitants, Alumni Association Members and Friends of the University for $235.00. Annual membership begins on the date of purchase and continues for one calendar year.
3. One-month membership - $30.00 per month
- Available for purchase by faculty, staff, spouse/civil union partner, admitted students, annuitants, Alumni Association members, Professional Affiliates, and Friends of the University.
- Membership begins on the date of purchase and continues for one month.
- Allows full-time use of the Student Recreation Center for one month and participation in all group fitness and intramural sport programs that occur during the month of membership. Personal training is available at an additional cost.
Membership Terms
1. Fall Semester: August 15th - December 31st
2. Spring Semester: January 1st - May 15th
3. Summer Term: May 16th - August 14th
Memberships
1. EIU Students
- Any student, both full and part time, paying student fees (the Recreation Fee, $8.66 per credit hour) is eligible to use the SRC.
- Any student is eligible to purchase a membership in the Summer Semester after taking classes in the Spring semester and registering for the Fall Semester.
- If a student has not been assessed the Recreation Fee, they can purchase a membership in person at the SRC.
- EIU alumni may purchase a one semester only pass for the semester directly after graduation. (Alumni Association members can purchase memberships after this one semester after graduation) - Proof of graduation date is required at purchase.
- Students may purchase a membership for their spouse/civil union partner. Dependents are not eligible for membership.
2. Admitted Students
- Any admitted student entering the university in the next upcoming semester (Fall or Spring).
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must show admittance letter, proof of age, and proof of insurance when purchasing membership.
- Admitted students are eligible to purchase 1 month and full passes. No LiFT/AM or guest passes.
3. Faculty/Staff/Spouses/Civil Unions
- Faculty and staff members as well as their spouse/legal partner are eligible to purchase a membership for themselves as well as their spouse/legal partner.
- Dependents are not eligible for membership.
- Faculty/Staff member does not need to be an SRC member for spouse/legal partner to purchase a SRC membership.
- Proof of spouse/legal partner status as an employee of EIU is required at purchase.
4. Friends of the University
- Contributors of $500.00 annually to the university are eligible to purchase 2 memberships. Dependents are not eligible for membership.
- Proof of contribution for the current academic year must be provided at the time of membership purchases.
5. Alumni Association Members
- Members of the Alumni Association are eligible to purchase 2 memberships (must live in the same household). Dependents are not eligible for membership.
- Proof of membership in the Alumni Association must be provided at the time of membership purchases
6. Professional Affiliates
- Employees of official EIU affiliated on Campus organizations are eligible to purchase a membership.
- Must present ID with a name that matches the list of Professional affiliate employees names we are provided by the university when purchasing a membership.
Other Policies:
Small, daily lockers are available. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
